Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region receives National "Gold Standard Award"

in their community to support Bigs, Littles and families with sustaining
long-term mentoring relationships that help children reach their potential,”
said Pam Iorio, President and CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
Agencies selected for the Gold Standard Award must demonstrate
excellence in quality mentoring services, including sustained long-term
mentoring relationships and increased revenues.

recognition. We are extremely thankful

helping create more one-to-one mentoring relationships in the Michigan Capital

Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcome Survey finds children enrolled
in the organization’s one-to-one mentoring program for at least a year progress
in areas related to education, behavior and socio-emotional well-being. Local evaluation data from 2013 shows that
95% of children served maintained or improved avoidance of risky behaviors, 65%
maintained or improved grades and 91% maintained or improved parental trust.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America honors Big Brothers Big Sisters
Michigan Capital Region with the 2014 Gold Standard Award. Local agency staff accepted the award June 17
at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Nationwide Leadership Summit in Chicago. The organization was one of 12 in a network
of over 300 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country to receive
