Roy C. Jackson SCHOLARSHIP

Who was Roy C. Jackson?

A little over 50 years ago, Roy C. Jackson was an active "Little" in the Big Brother Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region program. After graduating high school, Roy decided that he wanted to go to college, but knew that he could not afford it. He turned to his Big Brother and to the BBBS agency to see if we provided any scholarships. Unfortunately, at that time we did not; Roy went into the Navy instead.

Throughout the years, Roy acquired some wealth. One day, Roy called our office and offered us his trust fund under the provision that it would only be used as a Scholarship Program for our Littles. Roy C. Jackson passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016... Leaving "Littles" in the Big Brothers Big Sister's program the gift of a better future.
